Style and Bibliography
a. Writing and Citation Style
All aspects not covered here should adhere to the guidelines presented in the latest edition of K.L. Turabian's *A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses & Dissertations* (University of Chicago Press). This resource is available for consultation in the Reference Department of Alfaisal’s University Library. Alternatively, students can utilize other prescribed styles like AAA, APA, or MLA using tools such as Microsoft Word or LaTeX. However, ensure they align with the specifications detailed here, especially for the preliminary pages.
b. Citation Management
To effectively manage your bibliography, footnotes, references, and citations, the use of citation management software like RefWorks or EndNote is recommended. For additional guidance, contact Library services at Tel: 215-7845.
c. Footnotes and Illustrative Matter
Footnotes should be positioned at the bottom of the respective page and must be distinctly separated from the main text by a line. Each footnote should have an indentation of 1.5 cm and begin with its corresponding number (size 12 or size 10 in superscript) as referenced in the main text. If a footnote extends beyond one line, it should be single-spaced, with double spacing separating individual footnotes.
For guidance on formatting figures, tables, and their associated titles, refer to Turabian's Manual or the specific style manual recommended by your department or program. Separate maps, if included, need to be appropriately numbered.
d. Bibliography
Construct your bibliography in line with the Turabian Manual or any other relevant style manual dictated by your Department/College, like AAA, APA, etc. Tools such as RefWorks or EndNote can be instrumental in this process.
